Paula Silva (In The Quarry) and Silver Bear winner Daniel Hendler (Lost Embrace) star in Virus:32, which follows a security guard named Iris (Silva) who is working a night shift with her young daughter accompanying her when a virus outbreak infects the whole city outside.
They encounter a man (Hendler) whose wife has been infected and poses a threat to them. There’s hope, though, when Iris discovers that after each attack, the infected seem to have 32 seconds of peace before charging again.
AMC’s Emily Gotto, VP, Global Acquisitions & Co-Productions, said in a statement at the time Shudder acquired Virus:32:
“With Virus:32, director Gustavo Hernandez builds a lean, mean and terrifying thrill ride of a mother desperately trying to save her daughter from a zombie apocalypse. Combined with a stunning visual aesthetic, we know the film will delight genre fans everywhere.”
Virus:32 debuts on Shudder on April 21.
