Today there is a 17% off coupon code “SAVE17” that works on select Dell computers. That happens to also include two specific configs of the brand new Dell XPS gaming PC released in late 2021. The new Dell XPS boasts more than just an aesthetic makeover. There are several quality of life and performance improvements under the the hood, including the introduction of the powerful Intel Alder Lake processor and RTX 30 series video cards.
Enter the New Dell XPS Gaming PC
Compared to the previous Dell XPS chassis, this one is larger in volume (27L vs 19L) and provides more clearance for the CPU and GPU area for much better airflow. That’s important because the new 12th generation Alder Lake processors can run hot under intense loads. The Alder Lake CPU is currently the king of gaming processors; it eclipses all similarly priced AMD processors in gaming and (in most cases) workstation performance. Additionally, the new Dell XPS boasts an Intel Z960 chipset motherboard that supports the Alder Lake CPU, DDR5 RAM, and a PCI-E 5.0 bus for your RTX 30 series video card. Your video cards in these two configs are no slouches either: the RTX 3070 is the ultimate card for gaming at 1440p at 144fps or higher, and the RTX 3080 Ti is pretty much the best 4K/VR gaming card out there.
Note that these two deals are from Dell Small Business. Fret not, everyone can purchase from the Dell Small Business website. All you have to do is use guest checkout.
Normally there’d be naysayers claiming that you could build the same quality rig for a cheaper price. Provided you know how to find deals, that’s certainly possible. But we’re living in a whole different world right know where supply and demand has killed off price sensibility. RTX video cards, Z690 motherboards, and DDR5 RAM are all exorbitantly priced for the DIY enthusiast right now. And we have to factor time in as well. Sourcing an RTX 3070 or RTX 3080 Ti video card could take months. Technology moves so quickly that the value of our PC components depreciate at a frightening pace. Waiting a few months for a current gen piece isn’t necessarily the best option, especially if that “few months” could extend to several months. Dell offers incredibly powerful gaming rigs with all the impossible-to-get components you could hope for, at a reasonable price and delivery date.
Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED Gaming Monitor
The first QD-OLED panel on the market
After much anticipation, Dell is now offering the Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED gaming monitor for $1299.99 on its website. Although by no means inexpensive, this is the first ever QD-OLED monitor we’ve seen and thus the price point is surprisingly reasonable for the new tech. Undoubtedly due to the hype, it has been going in and out of stock throughout the day, so don’t hesitate if you’ve been waiting for this release. The estimated delivery date has already been extended all the way out to April 30.
QD-OLED technology was a big hit at this year’s CES and Samsung earned the “Best of Innovation 2022” award for it. The QD OLED panel uses quantum dot technology to more efficiently produce higher peak brightness levels compared to traditional OLED TVs without losing the color accuracy and range and wide viewing angles that OLEDs are known for. Although Samsung is the one that publicized the new technology, it is Alienware that will be deputing it first to the consumer market with this AW3423DW monitor.
